Character limits are common in search snippets, profile bios, advertising fields, app metadata, messages, and database forms. A character counter makes invisible spaces and line breaks part of the measurement instead of leaving length to guesswork.

This tool reports Unicode characters rather than raw JavaScript code units, which gives more intuitive totals for emoji and many non-Latin scripts. The no-spaces total removes whitespace while preserving punctuation and symbols.
