Extraction runs locally in the browser. The file, file name, and extracted text are not sent to our server. Image-only scanned PDFs need OCR and are deliberately not processed by this tool.

No. PDF and Word extraction runs locally in your browser, and the document content is not sent to our server.

Can it count a scanned PDF?

Only when the PDF contains selectable text. Image-only scans require OCR and are not supported in this private browser tool.

Why can the count differ from Microsoft Word?

Applications may handle hyphens, footnotes, fields, headers, and punctuation differently. Use the count required by your final submission system when it is authoritative.
